 RoHS/WEEE Method UV VIS

UV Vis for RoHS

Ultra-Violet Visible Spectroscopy is a colorimetric analytical measurement technique that measures the levels of hexavalent chrome, Cr6+.

Benefits for RoHS

  • Can quickly and accurately determine the levels of hexavalent chrome.
  • Easy to use
  • Produces results that are easy to understand
  • Relatively inexpensive technique

Additional Information:
To ensure the required homogeneity of the sample (per RoHS testing definition), samples should be prepared per either EPA 3060A or EPA 7196A.

Ultra-Violet Visible Spectroscopy is a colorimetric analytical measurement technique. The target sample is placed in the spectrophotometer and ultraviolet and/or visible light at a certain wavelength is transmitted through the sample. The spectrophotometer measures how much of the light is absorbed by the sample, and from this the concentration of the species can then be determined.
