GC MS for RoHS
Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) combines the features of gas chromatography (GC) and mass spectrometry (MS) to identify different compounds within a sample.
Benefits for RoHS
- Provides precise and accurate detection and quantification of PBB and PBDE in challenging matrices.
- MS/MS can be used to separate the compound of interest from matrix, allowing for accuracy that might not be possible without significant sample cleanup.
- Low level analysis (identification and quantification) of PBB and PBDE
- Provides precise and accurate detection and quantification of PBB and PBDE
- Non destructive sample analysis
- Cost effective mode of analysis
- The equipment is easily operable with minimal training
- Intuitive software further facilitates the user interface.
Additional Information:
GC/MS for WEEE RoHS analysis requires that the sample be homogenized and extracted into an organic solvent. In some cases resins will need to be cleaned from the sample to ensure the highest level of accuracy.
Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) combines the features of gas chromatography (GC) and mass spectrometry (MS) to identify different compounds within a sample. A compound’s retention time in the GC column is a function of the boiling point and the interaction with the stationary phase of the column. This allows for separation and concentration of each compound in the sample for analysis by the mass spectrometer. The mass spectrometer fragments the compounds and separates those fragments based on their mass to charge ratio. MS/MS further fragmentation pathways allow for unambiguous determination of compounds in heavy matrix.
