 HIV/AIDS Testing Laboratory

Identification of Analytical Methods to be used and recognized by recognized authorities:
Based on the current recognized techniques of WHO (World Health Organization) for the drawing and examination of blood samples with approved HIV Test Kits.

Sampling Techniques, Frequencies and Handling:
Covers the implementation of WHO recognized techniques for the safe drawing and refrigeration of potentially hazardous human blood samples and the proper and accurate analysis of blood samples with HIV Test Kits.

Recommended Instrument / Equipment Lists:
Develop and specify instruments, equipment lists based on the WHO approve testing methods for the types of blood, blood serum and body fluids samples to be analyzed, includes: standard instruments for chemical testing, standard lab equipment, lab information management systems, supplies and consumables.

Laboratory Layout:
Layout and design of laboratory furniture and equipment placement that takes into consideration the space available (or defining the space), sample flow, utility requirements and distribution, special requirements for hazardous sample handling, storage, sterilization, sample retention, and office/clerical/supervisory office space. Mobile, or field self-contained testing units are also considered and planned.
