New ARL SMS-3000 automation system for twin OES and XRF Spectrometers
To help customers improve productivity and provide better results faster, Thermo Fisher Scientific continues to innovate with products at the far front of technology: the new ARL SMS-3000 integrates two spectrometers and preparation machines in a fully automated cell with a single powerful robot arm. Designed to run both its X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) and Optical Emission (OES) spectrometers, the ARL SMS-3000 is a high-end, affordable alternative to the ARL SMS-2000, the most popular and reputed single spectrometer automation system for metals and mining applications.
By integrating both XRF and OES analytical techniques in a compact system, the new ARL SMS-3000 offers new opportunities for users requiring more comprehensive and integrated analyses and automation solutions. This is particularly relevant to high alloy, stainless steel, copper, brass and bronze applications where both techniques are required for a complete analysis including major elements as well as traces and gas constituents.
The ARL SMS-3000 features Thermo Scientific CRS F3 robot, which can manipulate samples of up to 1.2 kg at speeds up to 4 meters/sec. Given the usual production sample weights, this means less solicitation and reduced wear, increased reliability and longer lifetime. The ARL SMS-3000 is delivered as a turnkey system customized for your specific application and with all necessary safety equipments and interfaces.
