2007 TLD Service Training concludes in Oakwood Village, OH
Thermo Fisher Scientific's Radiation Measurement and Security Instruments group conducted training on TLD technologies October 15 - 19, 2007 in Oakwood Village, OH.  The stated goal of this training was to better prepare remote offices and global service agents when servicing TLD equipment in the field.

Attendees of the training received instruction on the operation, maintenance and repair of all current TLD readers: Model 3500, 4500, 5500, 6600 and 8800.  Rich Green, head of the TLD Materials Department, moderated discussion surrounding the TLD materials and sourcing.  The attendees also received hands-on instrument training conducted by the technical staff in charge of engineering and construction and members of the US and Erlangen (Germany) Field Service staff.

Training attendees participated in a facility tour of the Oakwood Village facility.  This tour provided attendees the opportunity to speak with experts in the TLD and Dosimetry fields as well as give an up-close view of the manufacturing and testing process.

Due to the overwhelming repsonse, a session is scheduled in Thailand for 2008.  The next US session will be held in 2009.  Contact Tony Rothermel for more details.
