Featured Application: Polymer Cross-Linking Analysis by NIR: Avoiding Hazardous Solvents

Cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) is a polymer that has been chemically cross-linked to strengthen it for high-performance applications. Analyzing the degree of cross-linking for quality control is difficult with traditional methods. This study shows that the Thermo Scientific Antaris FT-NIR analyzer was successful in this analysis of PEX pipes, achieving fast, accurate results, without the use of hazardous chemicals.
