Spectral Interpretation Applications

This course is designed for students who desire an extensive review of the interpretation of mid-infrared spectra. It is designed to show students how to interpret FT-IR spectra for structural information. The course is presented in a lecture/workshop format where the students will have an opportunity to interpret data and to present their findings to the class. Course topics include:

Nicolet Antaris FT-NIR Analyzer Operations
3 days – 2.0 CEU credits available
This course is designed for new users of Thermo Scientific Nicolet Antaris analyzers and lab managers, supervisors or others responsible for setup and administration of the analyzer and system software. This course provides a thorough review of the Thermo Scientific RESULT and Thermo Scientific TQ Analyst software programs that run on the Nicolet Antaris system. Users will also learn the basic care and operation of their instruments. Upon completion of the course the student will:
- Understand the strengths and limitations of near-infrared spectroscopy for analysis and routine materials characterization
- Understand different approaches to implementing an FT-NIR analyzer as a routine or real-time analysis tool
- Understand basic sampling procedures and systems diagnostics for the Nicolet Antaris FT-NIR analyzer
