The HyClone Process Supplements platform supports demand in the area of fed-batch cell culture. Our Cell Boost line has been vigorously tested in a variety of culture systems, including shaker flask cultures, traditional stirred tank bioreactor cultures and disposable cell culture systems (e.g., the Thermo Scientific HyClone Single-Use Bioreactor). Utilizing various serum-free media formulations, the products on the Process Supplements platform have successfully improved cell productivity in some cases more than 10 times what is currently achieved.

Rapid Response Production™ (RRP) is our manufacturing service designed for the production of client-specific media, process liquids and reagents with short turnaround times. We are capable of preparing up to 200 L liquid lot sizes and up to 20 kg dry powdered lot sizes, usually within 7 days.

Two New Alliances

Thermo Fisher Scientific announced a Stem Cell Alliance with Cellular Engineering Technologies (CET). The alliance will cover the production and marketing of human non-embryonic stem cells, growth media used to grow these cells and differentiation media used to convert the stem cells into other types of human cells.
We now offer Primogenix Murine Embryonic Stem Cells for biomedical research. These include the Primogenix B6N and 129/X1 mouse ES cell lines.

Maximize Cell Culture Production

Our versatile Serum-Free Media(SFM) are developed through Metabolic Pathway Design™ to support superior performance in multiple cell culture platforms. This development approach produces SFM targeted to increasing process yields for key industrial production cell lines.

Current Thermo Scientific HyClone SFM applications include hybridoma, NSO, insect, Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO), PER.C6 ®, HEK 293, MDCK, MDBE, COS-7 and Vero cell cultures.
