NIST Traceable Size Standards

NIST Traceability

Particle Size Standards provide third party traceability to national and international agencies through an unbroken chain of measurements with specified uncertainties.  Our products can also help develop and test new analytical instruments for particle size characterization of materials.

How is NIST traceabiltiy obtained?

Below are links to documents that describe how we measure and make or products NIST traceable.

TN-002 - Particle Sizing by PCS
TN-010 - Particle Sizing by TEM
TN-018 - Particle Sizing by Optical Microscope

Prove traceability of analytical methods

Certified Particle Size Standards are traceable to the Standard Meter through the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).  This feature enables laboratories to demonstrate the traceability of their analytical methods as required by ISO 9000, ISO 10012, ANSI/NCSL Z540, GMP/GLP and other standards and regulations.

Nanospheres

Our Nanosphere products are highly uniform spheres calibrated in billionths of a meter with NIST traceable methodology.  One nanometer is 0.001 micrometer (µm) or 10 Angstrom units.

Product Traceability

A long history of batch and packaging records permit servicing of products of any age.
