The Konelab DOA assays are typically measured from urine and meant for screening. These tests should be used as semiquantitative. The measurement range is based on calibration, no sample dilution is necessary. The measurement technique applied in Konelab therapeutic drug monitoring tests is a homogenous enzyme immunoassay. TDM tests are used for the quantitative determination of drugs in serum or plasma.

Direct measurement method, considered the most accurate ISE method, is used in Konelab analyzers. A sample volume as low as 50 ul is sufficient for the measurement of Na+, K+ and Cl-. Optionally in all analyzers Li+ is available as well as in Konelab 30 and 60 Ca2+ and pH. The user-friendly micro-volume electrodes are ready-to-use.
