SAN DIEGO, CA - (March 31, 2008) – Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, is experiencing strong demand for its Thermo Scientific CB Omni cement analyzer. This cross-belt analyzer was released to the global market in April 2007 following the acquisition of Analyser Systems (ASYS) and subsequent assimilation of its newest elemental analyzer platform. The first product resulting from collaboration with the former ASYS R&D team, the CB Omni, is a multi-faceted, highly-flexible analyzer platform that provides minute-by-minute composition analysis of raw materials in the cement manufacturing process.
In addition to its inherent features, the success of the CB Omni is also partially attributable to increased cement demand in India, the Middle East, Latin America and China, regions, all of which are now experiencing rapid infrastructure growth. Rising global cement prices are also driving demand as it is becoming increasingly important for producers to accurately measure, analyze and source raw materials.
“We’re committed to delivering the most advanced analyzer products worldwide. The Thermo Scientific CB Omni clearly entered the right market at the right time and our customers are responding favorably. We experienced substantial bookings growth last year and look forward to continuing this success in 2008,“ said Jon Culbertson, global commercial director for Thermo Fisher Scientific.
