BREMEN, Germany (March 21, 2005) – Thermo Electron Corporation announces the introduction of the Finnigan™ ELEMENT GD (Glow Discharge) mass spectrometer for the high throughput and routine analysis of elemental determinations in high-purity metals.
Ensuring rapid and accurate sample analysis, the Finnigan ELEMENT GD is principally designed for high purity metal manufacturers and their customers in the electronics, aerospace and nuclear industries. This groundbreaking instrument combines a glow discharge ion source with a sector field high-resolution mass spectrometer (GD-MS), assuring ultimate high-throughput performance in the direct elemental analysis of solids.
The Finnigan ELEMENT GD achieves the elemental determination of more than 60 elements per sample, from matrix to ultra-trace, with a throughput of more than five samples per hour. This means that most of the periodic table can be simultaneously determined in high purity metals such as Copper (Cu), Aluminum (Al), Tantalum (Ta), and other conductive samples.
