SAN ANTONIO, Texas (June 5, 2005) ? Addressing the quantification needs of the pharmaceutical industry, Thermo Electron Corporation announces several new technologies further substantiating the Highly Selective Reaction Monitoring (H-SRM) feature. H-SRM significantly increases quantitative specificity by eliminating matrix interferences. The Finnigan? TSQ Quantum? Ultra is now equipped with Thermo's unique H-ESI probe with Dual Desolvation Zone? technology, Ion Vector optics, and an improved probe housing specifically designed for routine operation in the high-sensitivity, high-throughput Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) laboratory. These new developments for the Finnigan TSQ Quantum Ultra will be exhibited at the 53rd ASMS conference on mass spectrometry, San Antonio, Texas, June 5-9.

The novel ?Dual Desolvation Zone? design makes H-ESI the most versatile LC-MS/MS ionization system available on the market, enabling high sensitivity analysis of the widest range of thermally labile compounds and flow rates. Key applications for this technology are in support of DMPK studies for drug discovery and development. These technical advances have resulted in triple quadrupole systems with the sensitivity and specificity, to make them the demonstrated choice for bio-analysis all over the world.
