TherMax 400 Thermogravimetric Analyzer

  TherMax 400 Thermogravimetric Analyzer

The TherMax 400 TGA system is designed for smaller samples, and delivers exceptional sensitivity to solve difficult thermal analysis problems.

  • 1.5 grams sample capacity with 0.1 µg sensitivity.
  • 29 mL sample volume, and under various reaction environments, including corrosive and flammable gases.
  • Vacuum to 10-5 torr

   Product Detail

The TherMax 400 TGA system uses the D-200 Balance, with a capacity of 1.5 g and a measurement window of ±150 mg. Sensitivity is unsurpassed at 0.1 µg. With a temperature range from ambient to 1500°C, it is well suited for high temperature applications. Four reaction gases can be controlled and switched by the Thermal Analysis Software. In TGA experiments, a limiting factor is often volume rather than sensitivity and maximum load. Only the TherMax 400 and the other TherMax family TGAs can handle samples up to 35 ml. This is important in the case of expanding samples, as well as low-density samples such as foams, filter materials and heterogeneous samples. The patented purge gas system guarantees that the sample is always in contact with the selected atmosphere, and the balance is safe from accidental damage due to corrosive effluents.

Sensitivity is critical when analyzing thermal characteristics of high purity materials. At the heart of every TGA system is their world renowned Microbalance Technology, offering the highest in sensitivity. This technology can be found in the TherMax 400.

The TherMax 400 can also be coupled with EGA methods. With the Thermo Scientific Nicolet FTIR OMNIC Software, both the TGA and FTIR can be controlled by one computer. Experiments are started with one keystroke, and data is collected, analyzed and viewed live during a measurement. The sensitivity in the FTIR is up to eight times higher in comparison to any other coupled system.
