Pycnomatic is the ultimate development for density measurement of solid materials available from Thermo Fisher Scientific. Based on the technique of gas displacement to measure real density of solid and powders, Pycnomatic delivers unrivalled fast and accurate results. Pycnomatic ATC (Automated Temperature Control) is the unique pycnometer with an integrated temperature control. Pycnomatic is also available without the built-in temperature control system.

Unrivalled accuracy of results: experience Pycnomatic precision
Pycnomatic offers extremely precise temperature control through the use of a powerful built-in Peltier element. This device controls the reference and sample chambers’ temperature with a precision of +/- 0.01 °C. It also permits the user to set the analysis temperature in the range from 18.00 °C to 35.00 °C, in steps of 0.01 °C. The accurate temperature control avoids any volume changes that can occur due to room temperature fluctuations during the test thus ensuring accurate and re-producible results without the need of continuous system re-calibrations. In addition, ATC enhances the speed of analysis thanks to a faster temperature equilibration of the measuring gas, thus reaching in a matter of seconds a stable pressure over the sample
Utmost flexibility by real multi-volume
In density measurement, the best accuracy is produced when the sample volume is matched to the measuring chamber of a gas pycnometer. The shape and characteristics of solid samples can sometimes make it difficult finding the optimal analytical conditions. A real multi-volume and multi-reference chambers instrument offers utmost flexibility and accuracy, regardless of the available quantity of sample. Pycnomatic features five different sample chambers, ranging from 4 to 100 cc. The user can easily change the chamber volume without any need of service intervention.
Analyze safely powder materials
Pycnomatic is uniquely designed to eliminate any risk of contaminating valves and tubing which can be a consequence associated with the analysis of fine powders. In the Pycnomatic, venting to atmosphere can be performed through a dedicated outlet port that ensures the pressure drops slowly down to atmospheric value without any risk of either sample loss or system contamination.
