Life-Time Performance and Economy
High performance Cadmium-109 (109Cd) source retains potency 71% longer than cobalt-57 (57Co) used in other XRF lead paint analyzers
Will not slow down over time as quickly (see chart below)
Fast results and less frequent source replacements
A 5-second Positive/Negative determination for a NITON XLp 300 Series with a new 109 Cd source will take 9 seconds when the XLp 300 Series' source is one year old, and 15 seconds when the source is two years old. In comparison, a 5-second Positive/Negative determination for a typical XRF lead paint analyzer using a new 57 Co source will take 13 seconds when the source is one year old, and 34 seconds when the source is two years old. A typical cobalt-source lead paint analyzer with a two-year-old source will take more than a minute to make many Positive/Negative determinations, with a maximum time of several minutes or more.
XRF spectrum analysis. Simultaneous K-shell and L-shell lead (Pb) x-ray detection and analysis with automatic Positive/Negative decision and automatic corrections for substrate bias and age of source. All Negative classifications in all paint-test modes verified by Negative K-shell x-ray readings.
