Thermo Fisher Scientific injection port liners are precision manufactured and highly deactivated, available for all leading GC instrument manufacturers. The innovative FocusLiner™ will improve reproducibility and extend your GC column lifetime.
The injection port liner is an essential part of the GC instrument and must be optimized to ensure sensitive and reproducible analysis. The injection liners from Thermo Fisher Scientific are highly deactivated, and produced to exacting tolerances to ensure the high level of reproducibility required in today’s separation laboratory. A full range of liners is available for Varian, Shimadzu and PerkinElmer instruments.
The FocusLinerTM, available from Thermo Fisher Scientific, contains a quartz wool filter that improves the rate of vaporization, reducing the discrimination of high boiling analytes in the sample. It also prevents non-volatile components from entering the column, improving sensitivity and extending column lifetimes. The FocusLiner secures the quartz wool between two restrictions, preventing movement during syringe needle injection. This allows the quartz wool to consistently wipe the dispensed liquid away from the end of the syringe needle during the injection process. This results in lower carryover and greatly improved precision, and Relative Standard Deviation (RSD) of less than 1% can be achieved.
Please refer to the ordering table of liners for Varian 1078/1079, Shimadzu 2010 and 17A, and PE Clarus® instruments to help you choose the appropriate one for your application. Please download the pdf of the Columns and Consumables for GC and GC/MS catalog to see diagrams of the liners.
