Convenient Sampling
The combination of the expansive sample compartment of the Evolution 300 and 600 spectrophotometers and the clever design of the accessory allows you to measure samples with the sample compartment completely open to room light. Light tubes are provided to shield the reference beam and the accessory from room light, allowing samples of nearly any size or shape to be measured accurately. The sampling surface of the accessory is located above the plane of the sample compartment allowing large or awkwardly shaped samples to be measured.
Measure a Variety of Angles
The reflectance properties of some materials change dramatically with the angle of incident light. Depending on the thickness of the film or the configuration of the optical surface, measuring the sample at variety of angles gives comprehensive information about the nature of the sample surface. Even at extreme measurement angles, the throughput of the accessory is exceptional, allowing sensitive measurements at very high and very low reflectance.
Software for QA/QC Testing
Designed for applications where testing at specific angles is required by international standards, the Variable Angle Specular Reflectance accessory allows you to meet testing requirements. Add the power of VL MaterialsCalc software to simplify QA/QC testing. Custom tests can be created in the VL MaterialsCalc software to test samples against a table of values or minimum and/or maximum boundaries across an entire spectrum.Simply provide the tolerances and VL MaterialsCalc does the rest. The test results will display the high and low boundaries of the test and a text-based confirmation that the material either meets or exceeds the specified limits.
