cubic inch (3.5 and 16 liters) capacities. It can heat to a continuous 1700°C
temperature. A unique door design contributes to chamber temperature

Fast Heat-up
Furnace reaches 1600°C in approximately 40 minutes.
Heat-up rate optimizes element life. (Faster rates may endanger SuperKanthal 33 elements.)
Continuous air circulation maintains a cool case temperature of 50°C at the chamber temperature of 1700°C, ensuring longevity of electronic components.
Electrical connection requires fixed wiring (no power cord).
Unique Door Design
Door is spring-loaded for easy opening and closing. The movement keeps the hot surface of the door away from you, avoiding excessive heat on opening.
Self-aligning door seal minimizes heat loss.
Interchangeable Control Modules
Interchangeable programmable control modules allow flexibility and are easy to access if you need to make a change. Simply remove the control module from the sleeve and insert the other controller.
No rewiring or disassembling required!
Added Conveniences
Chamber and controller combination requires only one electrical hook-up and saves bench space.
Two 0.38" (0.95 cm) diameter inert gas injection ports with plugs are included. One port is on the top; the other is on the back.
Hearth plates are included.
Reliable control units are backed by a 24 month warranty.
Choice of Temperature Controllers
The Thermo Scientific High Performance 1700°C Furnace is available in three distinct applications-oriented temperature controller models. All furnaces that use the C1, D1 or E1 control also use a mechanical Over Temperature Protection relay.
C1: Digital programmable control with 1 stored program of 8 segments.
D1: Digital programmable control with 4 stored programs, 16 segments per program. Includes RS-232 communications.
E1: Digital programmable control with 20 stored programs, 16 segments per program. Includes RS-232 communications.
