Lysates prepared with CytosALLTM Reagent are free of significant genomic DNA contamination. Further processing to digest or remove DNA is not required. The simple lysis procedure is completed in less than 10 minutes. Lysates are suitable for short term storage at -20oC.
Product Detail
CytosALL Reagent is used to prepare cytoplasmic RNA from mammalian cells grown in adherent or suspension culture. Subsequent DNA removal or further RNA purification is not required prior to using the lysates in a wide range of applications including reverse transcription RT-PCR and qRT-PCR, complimentary DNA (cDNA) synthesis and assessment of gene knock-down efficacy by RNA interference (RNAi). The reagent is ideal for use in applications where further processing of the lysate could lead to sample loss, introduce sequence bias, or require the introduction of undesired additional steps or reagents.
Simple Lysis Procedure
Lysis volume can be scaled up or down with cell number
Lysates can be used immediately or stored at -20oC for later use
Procedure minimizes handling that could lead to sample contamination or loss
Simple procedure allows multiple samples to be processed simultaneously
Multiple samples can quickly processed
No hazardous waste disposal
Lysates are Ready to Use - No DNA Removal or Additional RNA Purification Required
Lysate is free from significant genomic DNA contamination, reducing the potential for false positive results in RT-PCR and qRT-PCR
No need for DNase inactivation that could compromise RNA quality
Standard primers can be used. cDNA-specific primers that differentiate between PCR signal derived from genomic DNA versus cDNA transcripts are unnecessary
Time, handling and cost associated with Poly (A) or silica-based separation are eliminated
Organic extractions are unnecessary, avoiding residual alcohol, phenol or salts that can inhibit enzymatic reactions
Sample loss and the introduction of size or sequence bias in the RNA population due to purification are avoided
Quality Assurance
Thermo Fisher Scientific's technical expertise and documented manufacturing systems ensure lot-to-lot quality and consistency. Processes compliant with ISO9001-2000 standards are strictly controlled and monitored from material procurement through final QC and product release
