The Superfrost, Plain & Frosted 45-degree clipped corner microscope slides are designed for ease of use. Some selections are specifically designed with very tight tolerances for use with slide preparation instrumentation. Please utilize the chart on this web page to ensure that your slide selection is instrumentation compatible. The tight tolerance for the length and width help to reduce accumulation of glass chips within the instrument. For manual blood smears the tighter tolerance is not as critical. With either manual or automated slide handling, these slides have safer corners as they are less prone to chipping during handling.
