Ponndorf hose pumps require the use of specially designed and formulated hose materials for optimum life and performance. A variety of materials is available for a broad range of chemical compatibility and food or pharmaceutical applications. The table below shows the pump series and the tubing materials available.

Natural Rubber
The most versatile material for a broad range of chemical compatibility and long hose life. The PX series hoses feature a specially molded flange and back rib that provides positive hose retention and resists side-to-side movement in the pump. This molded design provides the best life and easy hose replacement.

The PD and PD/2 hose is specially reinforced to provide higher pressure performance up to 60 PSIG (4 Bar).

The PK series hose is reinforced with 4 Nylon layers and can achieve pressure up to 220 PSIG (15 bar).

Maximum temperature: 140F (60C), intermittent: 176F (80C).

Food Grade Natural Rubber
Available only on the PX and PX2 series pumps this material has the same performance as Natural Rubber except it is made from an FDA approved material for food contact.

Maximum temperature: 140F (60C), intermittent: 176F (80C).

Neoprene
Ideal for oils and many other chemicals.

Maximum temperature: 140F (60C), intermittent: 176F (80C).

Hypalon
Excellent for strong acids and bases. Available only on the PX and PX/2 series pumps.

Maximum temperature: 140F (60C), intermittent: 176F (80C).

Food Grade Ponnprene (TPE)
Excellent for many chemical applications and pharmaceutical uses. The highest temperature rated material available for hose pumps. Available only on the PDX and PDX/2 pumps.

Maximum temperature: 176F (90C), intermittent: 266F (130C).

EPDM
EPDM exhibits satisfactory compatibility with hydraulic fluids, ketones, hot and cold water, and alkalis. Available only on the PK series pumps.

Maximum temperature: 176F (90C), intermittent: 266F (130C).

Food Grade NBR
This form of synthetic rubber is generally resistant to oil, fuel, and other chemicals. This formulation is FDA approved for food contact.

Maximum temperature: 176F (90C), intermittent: 266F (130C).
