The AST/GOT reagent is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of Aspartate Aminotransferase in serum or plasma. AST is widely distributed with high concentrations in the heart, liver, skeletal muscle, and kidney. Damage or disease to any of these tissues such as myocardial infarction, viral hepatitis, liver necrosis, cirrhosis and muscular dystrophy may result in raised serum levels of AST.
The reagent is suitable for manual use or on automated clinical chemistry analyzers. Applications for a wide range of automated analyzers are available on request. With 30 days reconstituted stability, the various kit sizes make it suitable for all laboratory needs.
