The Total Cholesterol reagent offers the laboratory a 3-month reconstituted stability and various kit sizes to minimize reagent wastage.
Product Detail
Measurement of serum cholesterol levels can serve as an indicator of liver, biliary or thyroid function, intestinal absorption, predisposition towards coronary artery disease, and adrenal disease. Increased levels are associated with nephrosis, diabetes mellitus, and obstructive jaundice. When used in conjunction with triglyceride, HDL and LDL determinations, total cholesterol assays provide valuable information for the prediction of coronary artery disease. Decreased levels may be observed in cases of hyperthyroidism, certain anemias, malabsorption and wasting syndromes.
The Total Cholesterol reagent is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of cholesterol in serum. With 3 months reconstituted stability, the various kit sizes make it suitable for all laboratory needs. The reagent is suitable for manual use or on automated clinical chemistry analyzers. Applications for a wide range of automated analyzers are available on request.
