The Iron reagent is a stable liquid formulation, thereby offering the laboratory minimal reagent wastage.
Product Detail
Iron is the major constituent of hemoglobin and myoglobin and is involved in the transport of oxygen to tissues. Measurement of serum iron concentrations and total iron-binding capacity (TIBC) are widely used as aids in the diagnosis of iron deficiency and anemia. Decreased total iron levels may be seen with anemias caused by iron deficiency, chronic inflammation or cancer. Increased levels are observed in cases of infectious hepatitis, hemochromatosis, hemosiderosis or terminal Hodgkin's Disease.
The Iron reagent is intended for the in vitro quantitative diagnostic determination of iron in human serum.
