The Pocket Surveyor software providing local instrument control for new and existing Surveyor HPLC Systems. The software operates on a handheld computer running the popular Windows Pocket PC 2002 O/S and offers chromatographers the ability to connect directly to their Surveyor quaternary gradient pump and/or variable wavelength detector.
In addition to individual module control, the Pocket Surveyor can also be used as a system controller to create analytical methods and injection sequences. This allows the HPLC system to be interfaced to an existing Chromatography Data System using an A/D interface and the Surveyor UV/Vis detector?s analog signal.
In addition to functioning as a system controller, the Pocket Surveyor also allows direct control of Surveyor modules for diagnostic and maintenance purposes. Features include real-time viewing of detector parameters such as wavelength, absorbance and lamp status plus, Pocket Surveyor also has the ability to display the detector signal on the Pocket PC screen. Real-time viewing of pump parameters include solvent composition, flow rate and system pressure.
The Pocket Surveyor offers a choice between wired and wireless instrument control using either conventional Cat 5 Ethernet cables or a wireless Ethernet adapter and access point. Security is also built into the software, supporting multiple users with individual password-protected login.
