FT-Raman spectroscopy is valued in many industries because it reduces sample preparation and minimizes fluorescence interference. The MicroStage FT-Raman microscope adds micro analysis and fully automated sample scanning to FT-Raman spectroscopy.
For sampling convenience, the MicroStage FT-Raman microscope accepts 96-well plates in addition to microscope slides and horizontally-mounted sample cups. The combined macro and microsampling capabilities make the MicroStage perfect for applications ranging from bulk materials and solutions to samples like fibers, crystals and polymorph screening. When the MicroStage is combined with the high-speed NXR Genie germanium detector, rapid sample screening with fluorescence-free FT-Raman becomes a routine procedure.
The MicroStage mounts inside the sample compartment of the NXR FT-Raman module and the Nicolet NXR 9600 series FT-Raman spectrometers. It is also compatible with earlier versions of the Thermo Scientific FT-Raman spectrometers. With free path optics throughout, the MicroStage delivers excellent throughput and uncompromised sensitivity.
The MicroStage incorporates a color video camera—making it easy to focus on the sample, view the location of the laser spot for accurate sampling, and record the image with video capture software. Sample magnification is typically 50X when viewed on a PC monitor. The small laser spot size delivers excellent spatial resolution, facilitating mapping of heterogeneous samples.
The MicroStage incorporates a motorized x-y-z stage, which is fully controlled by the OMNICTM spectroscopy software. Optional µViewTM software permits the operator to select the analysis point simply by clicking on the video image. The MicroStage is supported by the AtlµsTM mapping software package, allowing automated collection of line and area maps in addition to the sampling of multiple, user-specified points on the sample. The optional Array Automation software package fully controls array analysis.
