The Laboratory Coating Weight Gauge provides a precise, fast and non-contact coating weight measurement of metal coatings applied to steel strips. It takes accurate off-line sample measurements without costly and lengthy chemical analysis. Due to the non-destructive radiometric measurement, the samples can be stored for quality assurance purposes.

The Laboratory Coating Weight Gauge provides a precise, fast and non-contact coating weight measurement of metal coatings (zinc, galvanneal, zinc-/aluminium alloys, aluminium, tin, terne, ...) applied to steel strips.
Measurements:
Off-line coating weight measurement of samples without chemical analysis.
Features:
Accurate sample measurement without costly and lengthy chemical analysis.
Due to the non-destructive radiometric measurement, the samples can be stored for quality assurance purposes.
Comparisons with on-line gauges are possible without disturbance of the production. Sample size, measuring spot and measurement geometry are adapted to the conditions of the on-line gauges.
By scanning of the inserted samples, the topology of the metal coating over the sample area can be determined.
Due to the using of measuring head and electronic components with the same design as for the on-line systems, parts of the laboratory gauge can be used as 'active spare parts'.
Operation and display of the measured values on the user friendly operator's terminal. The operator's terminal is connected with the processing electronics in the gauge cabinet via Ethernet.
Compact design of the laboratory gauge.
No radiation safety area outside of the gauge cabinet during operation. Occurance of ionizing radiation after opening of the gauge cabinet or opening of the sample drawer is prevented by safety circuits.
