Samples with a diameter of up to 60 mm and a maximum height of 8 mm can be checked for alpha- beta contaminations with high sensitivity by the built-in gas flow proportional detector.
Alpha and beta radiation is measured separately but simultaneously. Influence of external gamma radiation background is reduced with a 15 mm lead shielding and a guard detector switched in anticoincidence to measuring detector.
