The FHT 59 C is an aerosol monitor collecting and simultaneously measuring the radioactive components in the environment or in stack effluents. It has an automatic filter system so that the monitor could work continuously for one year or longer without an operator having to change the sample filter.
Gross alpha and beta measurement
- Compensation of Radon progeny for beta aerosols
- Rugged and reliable monitor with automatically moving filter
- Serial interface for data transfer and remote control
- Relay outputs for local or remote alarms
Automatic filter tape advance can be controlled in a number of ways:
- when dust load on filter is too high
- when activity level on filter is too high
- after a specified regular time interval
If the filter tape is advanced once per day the FHT59C can operate for up to 3 years without changing the filter roll.
The moving filter mechanism is rugged and reliable and has proven performance in hundreds of installations world-wide.
Scope of Application
The FHT59C should be used whenever an air monitor is required that has long term reliability. FHT 59 C is lightweight and easy to relocate. Therefore it is also ideal for use at temporary job sites.
Examples of such cases occur in:
- Decommissioning procedures
- Waste-site cleanup
- Nuclear research
- Nuclear power
Available Accessories
- Reference sources alpha and beta
- Flow control to maintain a constant sample air flow even when dust build-up on filter increases
- Additional relay outputs
- RS-485 serial interface communication for distances up to several hundred meters
- Printer for time stamping directly on the filter tape
- Choice of special sampling heads:
- TSP total suspended particulate
- PM-10 inhalable particulate fraction
- PM-2.5 respirable particulate fraction 400, 800 and 3000 mm sample tubes
- Sampling from exhaust stacks
