The Smart Endurance provides an option for samples that cannot be analyzed with traditional ATR accessories. The Smart Endurance's diamond ATR crystal is virtually indestructible and can stand up to highly corrosive, caustic, intractable or abrasive samples that might damage other ATR crystal materials.
The Smart Endurance is a single-reflection ATR accessory that utilizes a diamond crystal with a ZnSe focusing element. Measurements are performed by placing the sample in contact with the diamond crystal, which protrudes slightly above the sampling plate. Because the sampling surface is small, only a small amount of material is required. The fail-safe pressure devices, Tilt Back Pressure Tower, and Lightning Viewer provide uniform "point-to-point" contact and reduce the need for tedious sample positioning. Cleanup is accomplished by simply wiping the sample area with standard laboratory tissue. Sample loading, analysis and clean-up are performed quickly and efficiently in a minimum amount of time.
