Smart Collector

The Smart Collector is most beneficial to users in analytical test laboratories where fast sample turnaround and rigorous reproducibility are necessities. In addition, this accessory utilizes a unique optical design that increases the percentage of diffuse reflection required to obtain nanogram levels of sensitivity.

It is ideal for research laboratory environments. Combined with the optional ambient and non-ambient chambers, the Smart Collector can perform a wide variety of diffuse reflectance experiments quickly and easily. It can do this at elevated temperatures, high pressure and/or vacuum conditions with minimal sample preparation. Smart Collector is commonly used for solids, powders and organic and inorganic samples.

In addition to the many advantages of using Nicolet Smart Accessories, the Smart Collector has many unique features. For instance, with Smart Collector, there is no distortion because it incorporates unique collection optics that inherently maximize diffuse reflected radiation while minimizing the specular reflected component. This design also eliminates the need for any sample height adjustments  it's always at the optimum position and optical focus. The easy to install environmental chambers can be quickly installed with no realignment of the accessory, allowing users to perform in-situ measurements of solid materials.

The Smart Collector offers exceptional ease of use. It comes standard with two sample holders. Integral sample cups in the first holder eliminate the need to keep track of small parts and make it easy to load samples. The second holder is used in conjunction with the Si-Carb Sampling Kit, and is ideal for analyzing hard, intractable samples, such as coatings, paints and hard polymers. Convenient, pre-measured packets of dry KBr are included for dispersing samples when necessary.
