These robust, reliable and cost effective probes each measure nominally one element in one stream and are used in conjunction with a density probe for measuring solids content. Up to 3 elemental probes may be used in one stream measurement. The probes are immersed into either the full slurry flow or a large representative sample of the flow in specially designed analysis tanks. They are widely used in Pb, Zn, Cu, Fe and Sn applications where just 1or 2 elements are required to be measured. The online assay information is displayed on PC's strategically placed in the plant for operators and metallurgists to better control the process.
