The MiniRad gamma survey meter is convenient, lightweight and built for a variety of applications. This instrument features audible estimates of readings with meter overload protection. It is housed in a sturdy case, designed for convenient, single-handed operations.

The Mini1000 Series has the following features:
  • A logarithmically scaled meter with an open scale at the lower end to show background radiation levels while displaying high levels without switching
  • An integral detector assembly that allows convenient single-handed operation

  • An alarm which can be set to sound at any level on the scale

The Mini-Rad is intended for use by research, hospital, and industrial organizations as an inexpensive, convenient, and reliable gamma doserate meter. The GM tube used in the 1000RA and 1000RMA models is compensated to give a useful (+/-30%) response from 50 keV to 1.25 MeV. The energy compensation on the 1000 RLA model is designed to give a wide energy range from 17 keV to 1.25 MeV +/-20%, which makes the instrument suitable for monitoring X-ray sources of 20kVP and above.

The monitor conforms to the requirements of the International Electrotechnical Commission publication 325.

Sensitivity data derived from tests carried out by the NRPB.  Contamination response figures were obtained with the monitor standing on a large area source.  The resulting source to detector window distance is approximately 1 cm.

A leather finish carrying case is available as an optional extra.

 

Please note - The last day to purchase any version of the MiniRad 1000 R/RL/RM is June 30, 2009.  Support will be available on these products until January 1, 2012.  The recommended replacement product is the RadEye G20-ER.
