Product Detail
The Min-Alert is a free standing or installed radiation monitor for use in the external beam of high-dose intra-cavity radiotherapy installations or in high energy X-Ray or Gamma non-destructive testing bays.
Features
Available in two parts: main unit (7-20) and optional remote unit (7-21)
7-20 supplied with a mains cable; 7-21 supplied with a 10m multi-way shielded cable so the unit can be placed outside the indicated area
Simple to install and use – no user controls
Emitted sound is not intended to alarm, but to warn that an exposure is taking place
Low power consumption (approximately 5 watts)
As a safety feature, both units contain a trickle-charged battery that sustains operation during a mains failure
Manufactured from tough plastic, internally treated to reduce the effect of interfering electromagnetic (EM) radiation
Complies with IEC 1010 safety standard to Protection Class 1, and European office and light industrial (Hospital) EMC requirements
Below trip level, a "bleep" will be heard every half minute Above trip level, a "bleep" will be heard every second
Radiation Detected :
Gamma and x-rays only
Energy Range :
30 keV to 6 MeV
Alarm Trip Level :
Nominal pre-set values of 0.5, 5.0, 50.0 mR/h (5, 50, 500 uGy/h) Level set via internal switches
Operation on Internal :
Battery running is dependent on battery charge, ambient doserate, and alarm status. In a background of 0.1 uSv/h (10 uR/h), the running time is typically 10h following a charging period of at least 100h
EMC/ESD :
Complies with BSEN 5008 1-1, 50081-2, 50082-2 (severity level 10 V/m) electrical safety to IEC 1010
