Visi-Spot is a rapid colorimetric test to aid in the identification of Enterococci and Group A Strep. It tests for both PYRase (pyroglutamyl) and GLCase (Beta-D-glucosidase) which distinguishes enterococci from other streptococci species. Simply put, Visi-Spot is a PYR test that also includes a confirmatory test normally done by bile esculin. It can save overnight incubation and give identification of Enterococci or Group Strep A in 20 minutes. Ideal for routine testing of throat, urine, and wound specimens, it comes in a 50-test kit, with cards, buffer, color reagent, controls, and applicator tips.
