Applications
Description
The Verso cDNA Kit generates high quality cDNA from any type of RNA. The specific combination of the Verso RT enzyme, dual primer blend, and optimized buffer, produces high yields of cDNA. The optimized buffer reduces RNase H activity, allowing the Verso enzyme to generate full length cDNA up to 12kb.
The Verso cDNA Kit has unparalleled sensitivity and is able to detect as little as 1ng of total RNA or mRNA. To increase sensitivity to this level, the Verso kit includes random hexamers and anchored oligo dT primers. The combination of these two priming strategies gives sensitivity equal to that delivered by gene specific primers. This combination also gives greater coverage and higher yield of cDNA from RNA.
The cDNA Kit contains a new enzyme, the RT Enhancer. This is an enzyme that degrades any contaminating DNA during the RT step. It completely eliminates the need for a DNase I treatment of the extracted RNA, saving time and effort.
The Verso RT enzyme can be used at temperatures up to 57°C, avoiding problems caused by secondary structure in the RNA template. Verso is able to generate cDNA much quicker than other enzymes with a recommended protocol time of 32 minutes (dependent on template). Verso cDNA kits include RNase inhibitor to reduce the possibility of RNA degradation. For ease of use, the RNase inhibitor is included within the Verso enzyme mix.
