The ZebraTox BioApplication provides a new solution that automates the imaging and quantitation of zebrafish (D. rerio) embryos after a toxic insult. This is Thermo Fisher Scientific's first ever tool to measure gross effects of compound treatment on model organisms. ZebraTox relies on the industry-leading Thermo Scientific Cellomics ArrayScan® VTI HC Reader which allows researchers to more rapidly test multiple compounds to discover potential effect on organism's health and development. This application provides a unique, automated, and less subjective method for compound screening than less sophisticated traditional manual approaches. Specifically, the ZebraTox BioApplication assesses the size, shape and curvature of zebrafish embryos which are often used to evaluate gross and subtle changes in zebrafish development. Configurable to use wild-type or fluorescently labeled transgenic zebrafish embryos either live or fixed, the user can array the embryos in a 96 or 384 well format, then automatically image and quantitate features related to morphology.
