KingFisher Software has been developed for easy and versatile protocol creation for the KingFisher, KingFisher mL and KingFisher 96 instruments. KingFisher Software is designed to allow you to develop custom-made protocols for your own applications, and run them in the KingFisher instruments. Protocols can be created and modified smoothly, and loaded into the KingFisher instruments for easy use. KingFisher Software is highly visual and logical and has been planned for maximum user friendliness. The same software version is used for all instruments.
New protocols are created using KingFisher Software and saved in the database. Protocols in the database can be opened and modified to suit the changing demands of the applications. Ready protocols can be run directly from the PC or loaded onto the internal memory of KingFisher instruments for stand alone use.
The KingFisher protocol is based on a steplist. Steps can be defined to the steplist from the New Step -menu. The step parameters for the active step are shown on the screen. All steps have default parameters which can be changed according to the demands of the application.
Every step, except the Protocol properties step, is connected to a well/plate in the layout. The layout editor is used to define contents to the wells/plates in the layout. A new reagent can be added by pressing the "New Reagent" button and colors can be assigned to the different reagents for clarity.
