The DSA-200 Dry Stream Analyzer is the most recent development in this proven series. It uses the well-proven X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) method of on-line elemental analysis in dry powder or granulated streams. They provide for continuous on-line measurement of a number of elements. Benefits include more consistent matte grades, less loss of metal to slag and more efficient use of fuel.
Product Detail
The Dry Stream Analyser (DSA-200) uses the well-proven X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) method of on-line elemental analysis in dry powder or granulated streams. They provide for continuous on-line measurement of a number of elements from Al to U, the main application being measurement of SiO2, CaO, Fe, S, and the heavy metals in the feed to the smelter. The SiO2, CaO and Fe assays are used to control the addition of fluxes for the optimum slag chemistry. The S assay is used for feed forward control of the fuel to the furnace. The assay information output to the controlling computer (PC) enables plant operators, or a process control system, to make changes to the process operation to ensure product quality specifications are met. Benefits include more consistent matte grades, less loss of metal to slag, more efficient use of fuel, etc. On-line pulverisers and driers are available if the product to be analysed is too coarse or too moist.
