Academic Term Based Pricing for GRAMS

The GRAMS suite has always been popular with the academic community. In recognition of the enhanced image this confers on our products through publications and student familiarity we have decided to show our gratitude. We have identified two main GRAMS user groups in academia - teaching and research. Each has its own unique needs which we have revised our pricing model to accommodate.

3 for 2 Offer for Researchers

We have received many enquiries from small research groups wishing to use GRAMS as a workgroup tool. They generally have limited funds based on non-recurring grants and need multiple copies for efficient sharing and manipulation of data.

Typical research requirements addressed by GRAMS are:

• Providing a centralised database of spectra and chemical structures
• Sharing spectral library access throughout the group
• Standardising the environment for data analysis
• Providing a common platform for developing spectral processing algorithms and chemometric models.

Term Based Licensing for Institutions

One annual payment secures the complete GRAMS suite for all students and staff. The software can be delivered centrally by the institutions IS department using our configuration manager tool or alternatively licences can be distributed from the thermo.com web site.

GRAMS has many benefits in a teaching environment:

• Saves instrument time by allowing off line processing of data.
• Support s 150+ instruments and multiple techniques (Chromatography, FTIR, Raman, NMR, MS) reducing the need for costly dedicated software.
• Capable simple peak fitting or complex multivariate chemometrics.
• Centralised spectral library storage and searching reduces duplication and enables wider use of costly libraries.
• Provides a standard configurable environment for data analysis.
• The package is extensible via simple configuration or custom array manipulation code to provide a perfect fit for your requirements.
• Simple deployment and licensing for the entire institution

Academic Support for GRAMS

Support fees for GRAMS are set at 18% of the full list price. In order to allow research departments and institutions access to the 'insurance policy' of support we have added a reduced 'single point of contact' tariff. This gives the benefit of free software upgrades and the ability to escalate support queries to our helpdesk.

All support queries for the institution or research group are to be routed through the primary licence holder - this ensures that 1^st line questions from the users are dealt with by a knowledgeable local 'super user' and only the complex queries are passed on to us.

The tariff will be set at 18% of the Term based licence fee for institutions or 18% of the Academic software cost for research groups taking advantage of the 3 for 2 offer.
