Cytomat® 48 Series

Fulfilling the needs for large capacity in automated cell culture, the Thermo Scientific Cytomat 48 series of incubators provide homogeneous temperature, humidity and CO₂ conditions for optimal assay storage. The double chamber system provides an extremely uniform and stable environment to maximize cell culture growth. With a capacity of up to 1008 standard, SBS-sized microplates and temperature ranges of Ta+8 to +50°C, +4 to +50°C, or +10 to +50°C, this line of incubators is suitable for a wide range of applications. A specially designed internal water reservoir maintains a constant, stable humidity level of 93%rH, and ventilated stackers minimize evaporation.

Our Cytomat 48 incubators are easy to integrate, access and setup and are suitable for most laboratory environments. A single point of integration creates an extremely robot-friendly design, as the robot only needs to be taught one position for plate retrieval. The small access door and Thermo Scientific Plate Shuttle^TM system allow microplates to enter and exit the unit in seconds, significantly minimizing disruption to the controlled environment and virtually eliminating recovery times. Loading and unloading microplates results in less than 0.2°C fluctuation, and atmosphere inside a Cytomat 48 regenerates rapidly, regardless of the number of plates being retrieved. Plates are randomly accessed and can be retrieved in just 30 seconds. The Plate Shuttle system and access door can handle all standard microplate formats including deep-well plates.

A built in barcode reader can scan barcodes at any plate position inside the incubator. This minimizes plate movement and provides superior sample and plate tracking.
