Plant operators, especially in hydrocarbon and chemical process industries require an interface level measurement system that lasts in hazardous, outdoor environments without extensive maintenance. Many level systems have been used to measure process variables, including mechanical probes which are in contact with the process, contacting gamma systems, and non-contacting gamma systems.
