| Sulfide in wastewater |
| Electrode Log #32 Application Note |
| The ion-selective electrode method is an EPA-approved test procedure to
directly read sulfide in waste water. Laboratory productivity is improved
with quick, uncomplicated determinations. Use of the SAOB frees sulfur
from hydrogen ion (by buffering at a pH above 12), prevents oxidation of
sulfide, ensures that samples and standards have similar ionic strength and
reduces the effect of interfering ions. This procedure conforms to
EPA-approved test procedures from Standard Methods and ASTM.
