  Technical Note: Analysis of Pesticide Residues in Lettuce Using a Modified QuEChERS Extraction Technique and Single Quadrupole GC/MS
 Easily achieve excellent everage limits of detection and quantitation across a broad range of pesticides routinely analyzed in lettuce using single quadrdupole GC/MS.
 

This technical note describes the application of the QuEChERS sample preparation procedure to analysis of pesticide residues in lettuce using gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC/MS) on the Thermo Scientific TRACE GC Ultra™  and Thermo Scientific DSQ™ II single quadrupole mass spectrometer . The DSQ II was operated in selected ion monitoring mode (SIM). A calibration curve was constructed in iceberg lettuce, and then the precision and accuracy of the analytical method were tested by preparing matrix spikes at 5 ng/g and 50 ng/g. An average limit of detection of 1 ng/g was achieved, and the average limit of quantitation was 3.6 ng/g, which readily meet published sensitivity requirements.  Iceberg Lettuce
