  Technical Note: Quick Start-Up for a Modified QuEChERS Multi-Residue Pesticide Analysis in Lettuce by GC/MSn
 Efficiently and effectively identify and quantitate pesticide residues in lettuce using GC-ion trap MS.
 

 This technical note details the use of the Thermo Scientific ITQ 700™ GC-ion trap MS for the analysis of pesticides in lettuce using samples prepared via a modified QuEChERS sample prep routine. Studies were performed to determine method linearity, detection and quantification limits, and precision using matrix samples prepared using a dispersive solid phase extraction technique termed "QuEChERS" (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged, Safe). Using the MSn option for the ITQ 700, pesticides can be identified and quantified, even in heavy matrix. Method detection and quantitation limits, determined in matrix by performing replicate analyses at 5 ng/g gave limits of detection and quantitation that easily exceeded those provided by a numer of worldwide regulatory agencies. Linearity was also excellent, with linear least squares correlation coefficients of >0.99 R2 for most compounds. Lettuce
