This technical note details the use of the Thermo Scientific ITQ 700™ GC-ion trap MS for the analysis of pesticides in onion using samples prepared via a modified QuEChERS sample prep routine. The determination of pesticides in fruits and vegetables has been simplified by a new sample preparation method, QuEChERS (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged and Safe). The study was performed to determine the linear ranges, quantitation limits and detection limits for a long list of pesticides that are commonly used on onion crops, using the QuEChERS sample preparation guidelines.
