Carboxy-THC in Urine Using the DSQ GC/MS [AN10006]
Analysis of Carboxy-THC in Urine Using the DSQ GC/MS
Using the Thermo Scientific DSQ series single quadrupole GC/MS system, an operator has the ability to analyze low levels of a marijuana metabolite (carboxy-THC) in a urine matrix.

This application note demonstrates the ability of the DSQ GC/MS in selected ion monitoring mode to locate and confirm a drug in a given urine sample.  The SIM function of the DSQ is suitable for any method that requires the detection and quantitation of the lowest levels of a compound.  Using qualifying ions and an unwavering retention time will give the operator the utmost confidence in reporting even the minutest quantity of a compound.

Due to the method development in a urine matrix, it was also shown that the DSQ was able to handle the matrix contamination if a sufficient amount of sample preparation was done.  This instrument has shown its ability to handle matrix contamination and still deliver superior results.
