The trace and ultra-trace composition of seawater and other natural saline waters is of interest for both geological studies and environmental monitoring purposes. This note describes the use of the X SeriesII ICP-MS for the analysis of seawaters and other saline waters and how it overcomes the challenges that aris from the complex and highly concentrated ionic matrix components found in these samples.
