| Experiments were conducted to measure the improvement of product ion yield in GC-MSn analysis of pesticides in vegetable matrix using variable damping gas control in a Thermo Scientific ion source ion trap.
In this application, some of the pesticides studied are listed in the Tolerance Reassessment Priority Group One, which contains organophosphates and carbamates. The addition of higher damping gas pressure in the ion trap gave better detectivity by 4-5X for the list of pesticides studied.
